Ireland v Austria: Martin O'Neill awaits knee scan before deciding on David McGoldrick

David McGoldrick is a doubt for the Republic of Ireland's World Cup qualifier against Austria on Sunday as he awaits the results of a scan on a knee problem.

The 29-year-old Ipswich striker sat out training as a precaution at Abbotstown on Tuesday morning, but manager Martin O'Neill was not optimistic when asked about his chances of making the squad for Sunday's Group D clash at the Aviva Stadium.
