Joe Schmidt has spoken about Japan's improvement in recent time after his Ireland team was drawn with the Cherry Blossoms in Pool A of the 2019 Rugby World Cup, writes Steve Neville.

Referencing Japan's Super Rugby franchise the Sunwolves, who made their debut in 2016, he said some of Japan's top players have really improved.
