FIFA hand former German FA president Wolfgang Niersbach a one-year ban

Former German Football Association president Wolfgang Niersbach has been handed a one-year ban from all football-related activities by FIFA's ethics committee.

The 65-year-old spent over three years as head of the German FA (DFB) before stepping down after reports surfaced around alleged bribery taking place for the award of the 2006 World Cup to Germany.
