Government pledges extra funds for Olympic preparation

The government has announced that an extra €925,000 will be provided to Irish sports organisations to help with their preparations for the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Minister of State for Sport Michael Ring says an extra €3m is being provided to Sport Ireland for 2016.

€925,000 of this will go to National Governing Bodies to specifically assist with preparations for the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
