In place of his fight, Paddy Holohan’s bout against Louis Smolka has been upgraded to the main event.

Conor McGregor has other ideas though.

The UFC star offered to step into Duffy’s show and take on his scheduled opponent Dustin Poirier.

McGregor beat Poirier via a technical knockout in Las Vegas last year, but offered the fighter “another crack at the King no sweat”.

Given that McGregor is in training for a high-profile title fight against Jose Aldo in December, there is almost zero chance of it happening.

Fans can dream though.
