Thousands of One Direction fans were left devastated last night when the band cancelled their show minutes before they were due to go on stage at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast.

The rescheduled 1D concert led to the cancellation of another event - an ice-hockey game between the Belfast Giants and the Sheffield Steelers.
Fans of the team and the sport are mighty unhappy about the cancellation.

Understandably, they point out that many hockey fans were travelling from England for the game, and are being just as disrupted and let down as the pop fans were.

Fair play to local greyhound stadium Drumbo Park - they have offered sports fans an alternative night out.
