88 Athletes competing with Team Ireland fly out from Dublin today for the Special Olympics World Summer Games.

The competitors, along with a 40-strong coaching team, are heading for Los Angeles where the opening ceremony takes place on Saturday.

The star-studded event will feature First Lady Michelle Obama, Ireland's Colin Farrell and Olympic legend Michael Phelps.

Team Ireland is competing in 13 different sports and the games will feature 7,000 athletes from 177 countries.
