WATCH: The moment Ding Junhui cost himself £30k with the wrong snooker shot

Ding Junhui had a very costly lapse of concentration today while playing at the Betfred World Championship.

The Chinese snooker player’s error cost him a likely 147 break and the £30k prize that goes with it - no wonder he put his head in his hands when he realised what he had done.

The world number three had potted 12 reds and 12 blacks to score 96 of the 147 points required for a maximum break.

But instead of putting away another red and black, he screwed the cue ball back up the table to set up a shot on the blue - eliminating his chances of a 147 break.

Ding could only smile and shake his head when he realised what his lapse of concentration had cost him.

You can watch the awful moment unfold from 9.25.

He did at least go on to win the frame and then the match.
