Paddy Kenny sacked…because of his date of birth
Controversial Leeds owner Massimo Cellino wants Kenny gone, because his birthday is unlucky.
Massimo Cellino has reportedly told new Leeds manager Dave Hockaday that former Irish international goalkeeper Paddy Kenny does not have a future with the club.
He was allegedly already unhappy with Kenny because of weight issues, but became even more upset when he learned his birthday was on May 17.
Cellino believes the number 17 to be deeply unlucky, going so far as to have that seat number in the grounds at his last club Cagliari re-numbered as 16b.
Leeds have embarked on a pre-season tour without Kenny and the club this morning announced the signing of former Reading goalkeeper Stuart Taylor.

Following these reports bookmakers Paddy Power have set the odds of Leeds winning the Championship at 17/1.

Other footballers who will have to now discount Leeds as a potential club are Edin Dzeko (March 17), Jordan Henderson (June 17) and Nani (November 17).
