He beat Hungary's Norbert Harsca in the Light Heavyweight division this morning.

It comes after Sean McComb lost his last-16 bout to Elvin Isayev of Azerbaijan this morning on a split decision.

Flyweight Paddy Barnes will be facing Kenya's Simon Nzoikiisat around 2pm this afternoon in his bid to reach the quarter-finals.

John Joe Nevin is expected to officially announce his decision to turn professional later today.

Nevin has called a media conference for this afternoon, where he is expected to confirm details of his first professional contract.
