McCarthy hoping to continue hot streak for Irish boxers
Irish boxer Tommy McCarthy will be hoping to join his team-mates Michael Conlan and Jason Quigley in the quarter-finals of the World Championship when he steps back into the ring later this hour.
The Belfast heavyweight is set to take-on Emir Ahmatovic of Germany in the last 16.
Meanwhile, Conlan and Jason Quigley are now just one win away from a medal.
Conlan once again showed no difficulty with his decision to make the step-up to bantamweight as he won every round of his fight against Mexico's Brian Gonzalez.
He will now face the tenth seeded Vladimir Nikitin of Russia in the quarter-finals on Wednesday.
Quigley is also through to the quarter-finals after he out-classed Scotland's Aston Browne of Scotland.
The European champion will noave have to face Hungarian fourth seed Zolta Harcsa.
