Madrid Mayor rules out 2024 bid

Ana Botella, the mayor of Madrid, says the city will not be in the running to host the 2024 Olympics.
The Spanish capital placed third in the voting for the 2020 Games, behind Istanbul and winner Tokyo, having also missed out for 2012 and 2016.
“I think the Olympic race has already given us all the benefits we can expect,” Botella said, quoted in Marca.
“I believe, therefore, that Madrid should not look to host the 2024 Games.”
Madrid was knocked out in the first round of voting for 2020, leaving Istanbul to battle it out with Tokyo.
In 2012 it missed out to London, while the 2016 Games were awarded to Rio de Janeiro.
