Pacquiao set for November comeback

Former pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao will return to the ring in November following successive defeats to take on hard-hitting Brandon Rios in Macau.

Pacquiao has not fought since being knocked out in the sixth round by fierce rival Juan Manuel Marquez last December, which followed on from a controversial points loss to American welterweight Tim Bradley six months earlier.

But rather than try to avenge either setback, a statement on the Filipino superstar's official website confirmed he has lined up former lightweight world champion Rios to make the step up to 147lbs for the first time in his career on November 24.

Rios, whose last two fights have been at light-welterweight, will also go into the bout off the back of a defeat - against Mike Alvarado in their March rematch.

However, Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum is confident the two fighters will be able to thrill the fans.

"People know what Rios brings to the table," Arum told ESPN.com.

"People want to see a real fight, and that is what you get with Rios. We're building a business in Macau and China and these are the kinds of fights - real action fights - that they want to see."
