Fernando Alonso is poised to grab his first pole position in 14 races after finishing quickest in the final practice session for tomorrow’s Bahrain Grand Prix.

For Lewis Hamilton, the hour-long run ended in dramatic fashion with a rear-left suspension failure that will keep his Mercedes crew busy in the run up to qualifying later today.
