Conlan's father: Watching fight was horrific and exhilarating
Boxer Michael Conlan made it medal number three for Team Ireland at the London Olympics last night.
The Belfast Flyweight beat French fighter Nordine Oubaali by 22 points to 18 in their quarter-final to guarantee bronze.
Next up for Conlon is Robeisy Ramirez Carrazana from Cuba on Friday night.
Michael's father and coach John says he'll never forget watching the bout with his wife: "It's probably the most nerve-wracking thing I have ever done. Normally I'm his coach, I'm in the corner and thinking about tactics and watching his opponent.
"This time we were 50ft away, screaming like everyone else, knowing he can't hear us. It was horrific and exhilarating at the same time."
