Conlon secures another Olympic medal for Ireland
Michael Conlon has won another Olympic medal for Ireland.
The Flyweight has beaten French fighter Nordine Oubaali by 22 points to 18 in their quarter-final at the Excel Arena.
It was 5-5 at the end of the first round after Conlon made a lightening fast start to the fight before the Frenchman started to find his range.
The second round also finished deadlocked, with both fighters scoring seven points.
The final round was a tense battle with both fighters looking to convince the judges that they were the better fighter, but it was the Belfast man who out-scored his opponent by four points in the decisive round.
