There will be three Irish athletes involved in the first day of track action at the Olympic Games in London today.

Joanne Cuddihy is in the women's 400 metres heats at noon, while this evening Ciaran O'Lionaird runs in the 1500 metres heats. European cross country champion Fionnula Britton runs in the 10,000 metres final.

Sailor Annalise Murphy resumes from the front in Race 7 of the Laser Radial class from 1.30pm.

In boxing, Michael Conlon and Adam Nolan are involved in the evening session.

Ryan Seaton and Matt Mc Govern are back out in the Mens 49 er race and start from ninth.

Peter O'Leary and David Burrows resume from seventh position in the men's Star class.

Ger Owens and Scott Flannigan are 25th heading into day two of the men's 4-70 class.

James Espey is 45th in the men's Laser.
