In eventing, Camilla Spiers has dropped to tied 23rd in the Dressage event at Greenwich Park, while Mark Kyle lies 55th after his performance on Coolio.

Coming up later this evening, Chloe Magee faces off against former World number two Pi Hongyan of France at 7.10pm in Badminton.

Melanie Nocher finished 33rd overall in the 100 metre Backstroke, her time of 1 minute and 2.44 seconds well outside the top 16.

The Belfast swimmer will now focus her attention on Thursday's 200 metre Backstroke heats.

Sycerika McMahon's Olympic debut also ended in disappointment. The 17-year-old finished 26th overall in the 100m Breaststroke heat.

Wexford's Grainne Murphy also bowed out, she placed eighth in her 400 metre freestyle heat.

In boxing, Adam Nolan takes to the ring for the first time tonight, he fights Ecuador's Carlos Sanchez Estacio at around 10pm.
