Maldonado hit with grid penalty

Williams driver Pastor Maldonado will incur a 10-place grid penalty at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix due to exceeding his engine allowance.

The Venezuelan suffered damage to his Cosworth power unit when his gearbox failed during Sunday’s Indian Grand Prix, meaning his team will have to install his ninth engine of the year for the race at the Yas Marina Circuit on November 13.
