Irish team departs for World Kayak Championships

The Irish Kayak Sprint Racing Team departs for the city of Szeged in Hungary today.

They are to compete at the World Kayak Championships, which begin on August 18.

A total of 94 countries will take part in the competition, with a total of in excess of 800 athletes.

This event is also the first Olympic Qualification event for the London 2012 games.
