Rain wipes out one-dayer

Today’s one-day international between Ireland and Sri Lanka was abandoned without a ball being bowled because of rain in Edinburgh.

The match, part of a tri-nation tournament also involving Scotland, was called off shortly before 3pm because of persistent rain at the Grange.
