15,000 expected to line streets for Waterways Ireland triAthlone

Up to 15,000 spectators are expected to turn out in the Midlands today, as the Waterways Ireland triAthlone takes place.

More than 2,000 people have signed up to compete in the event, which begins with a swim in the River Shannon this afternoon.
