Vettel fastest in opening practice at Chinese Grand Prix

Sebastian Vettel maintained the status quo at the sharp end of the Formula One pack as he blitzed to the fastest time in today's opening practice session for Sunday's Chinese Grand Prix.

The German's title defence has got off to the best possible start with wins from pole at the first two rounds in Australia and Malaysia, and he was again at his dominant best this morning as he and Red Bull team-mate Mark Webber eased to a one-two amid enveloping smog at the Shanghai International Circuit.
