Trapattoni announces new Athletic Union League sponsorship deal

Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni has announced insurance broker First Ireland is to continue to sponsor the Athletic Union League for another five years, following its first five-year sponsorship deal.

Trapattoni said: “The young players today, whether growing up in Italy or Ireland, need support and help…The League will help grow Ireland’s talented young stars.”

Sarah Sheridan from First Ireland said: “The Athletic Union League is extremely important to Irish soccer and we are very proud to support the leading Irish amateur league.”

Irish players Seamus Coleman from Everton and Greg Cunningham from Manchester City were also present at the press conference.
