O’Connor strike secures first final for Monaghan

A late Cathal O’Connor goal put First Division Monaghan United into the first final in the club’s history.

In a tight match, O'Connor struck on 86 minutes to fire a stunning strike past Dundalk keeper Peter Cherrie.

Sean Brennan had earlier hit the crossbar for Monaghan, who are also challenging hard for promotion this season.

Monaghan will now meet Sligo Rovers in the final on September 25th, at a venue to be decided.
