Heartbreak for Gillick at European Champions

One of Ireland’s best medal hopes missed out at the European Athletics Championships in Barcelona tonight.

David Gillick could only finish fifth in the final of the Men’s 400m with a time of 45.28 seconds.

The event was won by Belguim’s Kevin Borlée with a time of 45.08.
