No luck for Whelan in 200m Women’s semi-final

Irish athlete Niamh Whelan has fallen short in her bid to qualify for the finals of the Women’s 200m event at the European Athletics Championships in Barcelona this evening.

Whelan finished sixth in her semi-final, in a time of 23.31 seconds.
