McCullagh loses European Championship semi-final

Irish featherweight Tyrone McCullagh lost out in his semi-final to England's Iain Weaver at the European Amateur Championships in Moscow today.

McCullagh started the last round level but his opponent pulled away to score a 10-3 win.

English boxer Khalid Yafai celebrated his 21st birthday in style by reaching the 51kg final with a punch-perfect 5-0 win over Germany's Ronny Beblik.

A win for lightweight Tom Stalker mean England will be fighting for three gold medals on Saturday - the first time the nation has had three finalists since 1947.
