Fernando Alonso enjoyed a “morale booster” of a Monaco Grand Prix that culminated in another on-track furore involving Michael Schumacher.

After starting from the pit lane following a crash in final practice that wrecked his Ferrari’s chassis and prevented him taking part in qualifying, Alonso finished a remarkable sixth.
