McFaul fires Fingal past Bray

Shane McFaul's first-half headed goal was enough to give Sporting Fingal victory over bottom of the table Bray Wanderers at Morton Stadium.

But in truth, Liam Buckley’s side rode their luck as the win moved them up to third.

McFaul struck after 25 minutes when he flicked home at the near post with the back of his head from Conan Byrne’s corner.

Bray battled away and had their chances in the second half, most notably when Jake Kelly’s header came back off the bar from David Tyrrell’s cross on 65 minutes.
