Ryan Day became the third seeded player to crash out in the first round at the Betfred.com World Championship as Mark Davis followed namesake Steve into the last 16.

Hastings cueman Davis - no relation to the six-times former champion with whom he shares a surname - had only reached the second round once previously, when he lost to Peter Ebdon in 1995.
