Tunnel collapses at Spa
A section of a tunnel that runs underneath the Spa-Francorchamps track which hosts the Belgian Grand Prix has collapsed, it has emerged.
No-one was hurt in the incident that occurred yesterday, although the circuit organisers were hosting a Club Subaru Belgium event at the time.
Work is now underway to repair a hole that has appeared in the run-off area of the Blanchimont corner, while there are also a few minor fissures in the track asphalt.
It is understood the tunnel collapsed due to age as it had not been modified since its construction in 1978.
