O'Rourke to miss World Indoor Championships

The former world indoor champion Derval O'Rourke has been forced to withdraw from the Ireland team for the upcoming World Indoor Championships in Qatar after developing a hamstring injury.

O'Rourke, who will miss out on the chance to regain her title, has been struggling with a calf problem during the early part of the year.

The Cork hurdler was one of Ireland's main medal hopes ahead of the games which take place next month.

She will now turn her attention towards the European Championships in Barcelona this summer.
