Record numbers to take part in Dublin marathon

Dublin will come to a standstill today as a record number of runners take part in the capital's marathon.

Almost 13,000 competitors have entered the race, more than any year so far.

It is estimated more than half of those taking part will be overseas runners.

Amongst them will be Russian Aleksey Sokolov, who has returned to Ireland to bid for his third title in four years.
