Doherty knocked out of Snooker Grand Prix

Ireland's Ken Doherty is out of the World Snooker Grand Prix after losing his second-round match last night.

The Dubliner was defeated 5-2 in Glasgow by Australian Neil Robertson.

However, he will be consoled by the fact that should move further up the world rankings after seeing off Mark Selby in the opening round on Saturday.

Doherty started the season at 55th in the rankings, but has already jumped to 37th after reaching the quarter-finals of the Shanghai Masters.
