Trulli committed to F1
Jarno Trulli is adamant he is 100% committed to Formula One despite the Italian due to test in NASCAR next month.
It is almost certain Trulli will not be retained by Toyota come the end of the season after six years' service with the team.
That has prompted speculation surrounding his future, with rumours linking him to a switch to the North American series after word of his test emerged.
However, the 36-year-old Italian has been forced to quash all talk of a permanent move to NASCAR as he has no intention of giving up on F1.
âI would like to clarify the situation regarding my NASCAR test in response to the stories,â said Trulli.
âLast year I had the chance to visit a NASCAR race at Michigan, which was a really interesting experience for me.
âNASCAR is one of the most significant motorsport series in the world and I was very curious to see the racing first hand.
âAt the time I asked the Toyota guys in the US if it would be possible to one day test a car just for fun, and before the Belgian Grand Prix they offered me the chance to do so later in the year.
âAfter getting approval from team management at Toyota, I was able to confirm that I can take part in a two-day test in November.
âBut I want to stress this is purely an opportunity to experience another category of motorsport for personal enjoyment.
âMy commitment is 100% to Formula One.â
Trulliâs options, however, appear to be limited with race seats starting to fill up for 2010 now the driver merry-go-round is in full swing.
