Massa on course for return this season
Felipe Massa remains on course to complete a remarkable comeback after returning to Ferrari’s Maranello factory this week.
Massa was yesterday behind the wheel of the team’s static simulator in which he completed six hours of work.
It is all part of ensuring the Brazilian is acclimatised before he steps back into the cockpit of a Formula One car next week.
Massa is due to drive a 2007-spec Ferrari just over 11 weeks after requiring life-saving surgery following an accident in qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix.
If all goes according to plan there is every prospect the 28-year-old could be back in action in the inaugural Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on November 1.
Regarding his time in the simulator, Massa said: “We worked very well, without any problems.
“The simulator uses an A1GP single-seater, so it’s not exactly like Formula One, but pretty close.”
Massa has also spent time responding to the considerable number of emails he has received from fans and well-wishers.
