Donegal welterweight Willie McLaughlin recorded Ireland's fourth win in a row at the AIBA World Championships this morning after earning an inside the distance last 64 victory over Come Ndyishmiye of Burundi.

McLaughlin was 6-0 up when the ref halted the contest in the first round after Ndyishmiye took his second standing count at the Mediolanum Forum in Milan.

David Oliver Joyce will be in action this afternoon against Thai featherweight Wuttichai Masuk.

If the St Michael's Athy man wins this bout then nine Irish boxers will be through to the last 32 phase.
