Nevin through to next round at Worlds

Cavan bantamweight John Joe Nevin got Ireland back to winning ways at the AIBA World Championships with a classy 19-4 preliminary round victory over Ramir Najafou of Azerbaijan in Milan this morning.

Nevin, who forced Najafov into a standing count in the third, was in cruise control from the opening bell up and will now meet Serbian Nikola Magovac in the last 32 on Saturday.
