Thousands to welcome home Loughnane

Medal winner Olive Loughnane will be welcomed by a crowd of thousands at Croke Park later today.

The 33-year-old Galway woman, who won a silver medal in the 20km walk at the World Athletics Championships, arrived home last night.

She is due to be introduced to the crowd at the All-Ireland football semi-final between Cork and Tyrone later today.

Speaking on her return to Irish soil yesterday evening, Loughnane said she is delighted to join the exclusive club of Irish medal winners.
