Irish surfer Liam Joyce is set to take on the world's best surfers at the ISA Billabong World Surfing Games in Costa Rica.

Irish surfer Liam Joyce is set to take on the world's best surfers at the ISA Billabong World Surfing Games in Costa Rica.

The games take place from August 1-8. Joyce will be part of a four-man team representing Ireland.

Following the World Games, Joyce will be travelling down the west coast of Europe competing in the ASP World Qualifying Series contests in Spain, Portugal, France and the Canary Islands. Joyce will also represent Ireland at the European Surfing Championship in Jersey from the September 26 to October 4.

Joyce said: "It’s great to represent Ireland in the World Championships. It’s great too to have support from the guys at Captain Morgan to help me compete on the European leg of the QS tour."
