O’Brien forced to retire from international hockey

Irish hockey vice-captain Ciara O’Brien has been forced to retire from the international game.

O'Brien has been suffering from a degenerative arthritic condition in both knees for the past year.

She collected 156 caps in the green shirt during a nine-year career.

Ciara is a sister of Irish cricket internationals Niall and Kevin O'Brien.
