Barrichello angered by team's tactics
Rubens Barrichello launched an astonishing attack on his own team in the wake of today's German Grand Prix.
The Brawn GP driver was left fuming at the Nurburgring, blaming team bosses for robbing him of victory.
Despite taking the lead on the run down to the first corner, and Mark Webber being handed a drivethrough penalty for bumping into the Brazilian at the start, Barrichello trailed home sixth.
That prompted outrage from the 37-year-old, and not for the first time this season as he was annoyed at tactics deployed during the Spanish Grand Prix, another race he felt he should have won.
When asked what went wrong, Barrichello pulled no punches as he said: "I guess the strategy in the pit lane...it was a good show from the team on how to lose a race today.
"I'm terribly upset with the way things have gone. I did all I had to do. I went first on the first corner, and then they made me lose the race.
"If it is really what's going on, we're going to end up losing both championships. I feel sorry for myself, the team.
"To be very honest, I wish I could get on the plane and go home. I don't want to talk to anyone in the team.
"It will be all 'blah, blah, blah' and I don't want to hear that."
In response, team boss Ross Brawn said: "That's a frustrated racing driver.
"When you've put so much into a race and it hasn't worked out, that is what you get sometimes.
"When you get out of a car thinking you should have won a race, and you haven't got all the facts, that can happen.
"It's a passion some drivers have."
Barrichello had a fuel-rig problem and a radio issue that meant he was unable to receive instructions, but as Brawn pointed out he simply was not quick enough.
"When you have the 11th-fastest time in the race, you can't win it whatever strategy you have. It's not possible," added Brawn.
"Those are the facts, and once he has calmed down...if we had been quicker then we would have won the race, but we were too slow.
"He is frustrated, but so are we. If he sits down and looks at all the numbers he will realise we were too slow.
"Mark had a drivethrough and was still back in front of us after a few laps.
"When you are cocooned inside the car and the radio is not working you don't get a good picture of what's going on.
"Once he understands how the race went, then his view on things will be a little different."
