Burdis breaks Irish 50m backstroke record
US-based Irish swimmer Karl Burdis is continuing to break records at the World University Games.
The 19-year-old broke the Irish 50m backstroke record twice on his way to a 10th-place finish in the final of the event in Belgrade.
He set a new mark of 25.63 seconds.
Burdis broke the Irish senior men’s 100m backstroke record on Monday, finishing seventh in the final in a time of 55.02 seconds.
