A lone Sammy Morrow goal gave Derry their third win on the spin to move them to within a point of leaders Bohemians at the top of the table.

Morrow struck after just 14 minutes when arriving at the back post to fire home Steven Gray’s cross.

Both sides finished with ten men when a bad tackle by Jason Noctor resulted in a scuffle involving virtually all 22 players.

When tempers eased, Cork referee Anthony Buttimer sent off Noctor and Gray.
