Mosely welcomes McLaren culture change

Max Mosley is hopeful “the culture change” at McLaren will result in a more positive relationship between the team and the FIA.

Team principal Martin Whitmarsh’s demonstration of the fact McLaren have turned over a new leaf proved a clearly persuasive argument in yesterday’s World Motor Sport Council hearing in Paris.

McLaren were yesterday handed a suspended three-race ban after the team admitted five charges of being in breach of the International Sporting Code.

But what satisfied the WMSC more than anything else was the desire of Whitmarsh to now forge a closer working partnership with the FIA than was previously the case under predecessor Ron Dennis.

“Martin made a very good impression,” remarked Mosley following the hearing.

“He is absolutely straightforward and wants to work with us.”

Appreciating McLaren’s new philosophy and approach, Mosley added: “They (McLaren) have demonstrated there is a complete culture change, that it’s all different to what it was.”
