Dott storms back into contention

Graeme Dott won three of the first four frames against Mark Selby this morning to battle his way back into their second-round match at the Betfred.com World Championship.

Selby led 6-2 after yesterday’s opening session but was outplayed by the 2006 champion as they resumed.

Dott had pulled back to 7-5 by the mid-session interval.

The Larkhall cueman won the first frame after a break of 51 and then dominated the next, to pull back to 6-4.

The Scot was left in his seat as Leicester man Selby compiled 101 to move three frames clear, but Dott replied with 117 before the mid-session interval.

After setting a slowest frame record yesterday, the pace of the match between Mark King and Stephen Maguire remained disappointing.

Maguire began the session tied at 4-4 with King, but edged 6-5 ahead, pinching the 11th frame of the match with a break of 49.
