Barrichello handed grid penalty

Rubens Barrichello will be penalised five places on the starting grid for tomorrow’s Malaysian Grand Prix after changing the gearbox in his Brawn GP car yesterday.

The Brazilian was fourth in yesterday’s opening practice and sixth in the second session but required a gearbox change in his car later.

This season’s Formula One regulations state that gearboxes must last four race weekends and Barrichello was duly penalised.
