Shelbourne Park looks forward to Easter Cup

Leading fancies Shelbourne Aston and College Causeway have been handed very difficult first round tasks in the BCR Print Easter Cup which gets under way at Shelbourne on Saturday night.

Derby winner Shelbourne Aston goes into action in the very first heat where among his rivals will be Mid West Blue, Tyrur Bertie and Advantage Johnny.

College Causeway goes in heat six and among the Ladbrokes 600 winner’s rivals will be two of last year’s leading puppies Timor Blue and Accordello as well as Tyrur Liz and recent Shelbourne gamble Liffeyside Otter.

Puppy Derby winner Droopys Noel has a difficult task in heat two, where he faces the brilliant Fatboyz Nodrog, Pat Curtin duo Fastflame and Castlehill Pat as well as Tote Gold Cup finalist Side Bet.

The third heat features Puppy Derby finalist Ballymac Bondi, Laurels winner Cashen Legend, National Puppy winner Tip And Tin and the talented bitch Skywalker Queen.

Owen McKenna now trains Droopys Lee and he has been drawn in heat four against his new kennel companion Faypoint Man and last weekend’s flying winner Oran Classic.

Two former UK stars Ballymac Under and Rio Quando will be in opposition in heat seven where flying bitch Shingaun Stan will be a major fancy.

Paul Hennessy has both Barefoot Bryan and Tyrur Mikiemac in heat seven where likely favourite is Tote Gold Cup third Cashen Zig.

Hennessy also has two in heat eight where Jemmy Doodlebeag and Barefoot Bolt will be opposed by Mardocs O'Shea.
