Peters disappointed with Egan withdrawal

Promoter Brian Peters has expressed disappointment at Kenny Egan's withdrawal from the Bernard Dunne undercard at the O2 in Dublin later this month.

However, Peters says the Irish amateur captain, who fail to show for a fight at the National Stadium last weekend, made a decision that was right for himself.

Egan had been due to fight China's Zhang Xiaoping, his opponent in last year's Olympic final, ahead of the Dunne fight on March 21st.

He has apologised for his no-show last weekend, saying he got caught up in the celebrity world after his Olympic win and has found dealing with his success very challenging.
